This week, we’re bringing you my absolute favorite skincare DIY body scrub recipe. We have a subtle pop of chocolate and mint once this scrub connects with water in your bath or shower.
INGREDIENTS | DIY BODY SCRUB Chocolate, Coffee, and Mint
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup brown raw sugar (Turbino)
1/2 cup coconut oil, or almond oil (if you have acne, choose jojoba oil)
3 T cocoa powder
2 T Coffee or Espresso grounds (awesome opportunity to recycle)
4 drops peppermint essential oil
Vitamin E Oil
INSTRUCTIONS
In a large bowl, add dry ingredients.
Mix Well.
Grab a small bowl, and mix the wet ingredients.
Pour small bowl into large bowl, and mix well.
Transfer to an airtight container.
NOTE
You will see Vitamin E Oil added to many natural skincare products. Some people refer to it as a preservative. Vitamin E is not a natural preservative. It is used to increase the shelf life of carrier oils like almond, jojoba, etc. For this reason, it is important to keep your scrub in an airtight container once you begin using products because you do not want mold, or bacterial growth in your product and then all over your body. I use plastic jars in the shower always, because if you slip and drop glass — it can be a bad scene.
